Eve holds a BA in Art, a JD, an MBA and a PhD. She retired from her career as a judge and spends her time playing violin with two community orchestras, writing, training dogs, and mentoring young women as they begin their professional careers. Joel, a physician, is the Director of the Division of Gastroenterology at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He also serves as Section Chief for St. Louis University at St. Mary's. A proud graduate of Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN, he also holds an MBA and a MHCM. Joel takes pride in helping young doctors, including their own two sons, get off to a good start in medicine. Younger son, Cruz, is the Oxy graduate. He graduated from Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine in Pasadena, CA. He is currently a first-year dermatology resident at Washington University in St. Louis. Max, the elder son, is Chief Resident, General Surgery, at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. Max begins his vascular surgery fellowship at The Brigham next year. Married for 37 years, Eve and Joel have one grandchild. Avid beekeepers, when not tending the hives, the couple enjoys watching football (American and English) and hanging out with their two dogs and seven cats.
