Joel is the director of the Division of Gastroenterology at St. Mary’s Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. A proud graduate of Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee, Joel takes pride in helping young doctors get off to a good start whether in gastroenterology or in any of the other myriad available specialties and sub-specialties for 21st Century physicians. Eve, a proud alumna of The Academy of Our Lady High School in Chicago, holds a B.A. in Art, a J.D., an M.B.A., and a PhD. She retired from her career as a judge and spends her time writing romance novels and mentoring young women as they begin their careers in law and medicine. Married for 33 years, together they raised two amazing sons. The younger, Cruz, is a 2017 Occidental College graduate and a member of the inaugural class of the Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine in Pasadena, CA. Their elder son, Max, is a general surgery resident at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA.
Avid beekeepers, when not tending the hives, Joel and Eve enjoy watching football (American and English) and hanging out with their four dogs and seven cats.
