Liz
Blackman
Occidental College Class of 1980
Animal Rescue Advocate
Officially, Liz Blackman majored in political science at Occidental. But she will tell you that in every way that matters, her true major was in hanging on Roger Boesche's every word. From the day she graduated in 1980, Liz and Professor Boesche maintained a profound and constant friendship. Following a career in journalism and another in the arts, Liz was inspired largely by Professor Boesche's fearless example and encouraged by his support to pursue her true passion, helping animals. In 1996, she founded Help4Pets, Inc., a pet identification service that saves lives and raises funds for animal shelters and rescues across the country.
