“I think what it means for Oxy is that the school will be a place to realize dreams. The school will be a place to enable young people—who would not have otherwise had an opportunity—to go into public service and to pursue great things.”

Jeh Johnson P’17

“We are hopeful that Oxy students remain committed to the powerful ideals that have been a bedrock for our country, and, we believe, were exemplified by the namesake of this program.”

“The Obama Scholars Program at Occidental represents the best in our academics and in our nation. Big global challenges need big ideas, and this program is a powerful investment in tomorrow’s thoughtful and bold leaders.”
